
The NYC & Company MICE roadshow
In 2011 Hills Balfour organised a UK MICE marketing road show for NYC & Company and 12 of their Members, facilitating face time with leading UK event agencies and corporate clients
London, Leeds and Manchester were selected to hold our sales events, with strong promotion via our client/network lists. Each attending agency and corporate client were vetted for relevance and potential business for New York City ensuring we had the highest quality attending and therefore guaranteeing a sound return of investment to participating NYC & Company Members. The venue was chosen to reflect the New York City theme and NYC & Company brand, supported with food and canapés and strong destination messaging. We provided each NYC & Company Member with a comprehensive market update and report on clients they would meet during the course of the week.
During the road show Hills Balfour communicated regularly to MICE and Business media and posted regular updates on our social media sites. A media breakfast was organised following the London event to update journalists on all relevant destination developments.
In total 165 quality agency and corporate clients attended our events in London, Leeds and Manchester. During the event week alone we collectively received over 14 concrete proposals for participating Members. Every event of the week was entirely self funded as a result of the heavy participation of NYC & Company Members.
NYC & Company Members rated the road show at over 85% for developing their UK business. Furthermore, media coverage was secured across three different MICE and business travel publications.
