2019 LVCVA SUMMIT

October 14, 2022

Each year Las Vegas Conventions and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) hosts a summit to bring its international representatives to the destination for market updates, insights, idea sharing and forward planning. Hills Balfour representatives from PR, sales and marketing and social and digital attended the 2019 LVCVA summit, to bring together thoughts and ideas from across the disciplines as well as all expertise across all aspects of the travel industry.

The summit took place over four days and incorporated a full day of market updates and presentations, in addition to a marketplace for Las Vegas partners and suppliers to discuss product updates and in-market opportunities.

A scavenger hunt took place on the iconic strip with the international representatives divided into teams and given cryptic clues to decipher, with points assigned to each location. The ‘race day’ also included a backstage tour of one of The Entertainment Capital of the World’s most popular shows, Le Reve at Wynn Las Vegas. In the evening, the team enjoyed a food tour of Las Vegas’ Downtown Arts District and the FlyLinq zipline experience.

One of the most important aspects of the summit is destination familiarisation, to ensure LVCVA’s international representatives have the most up-to-date destination knowledge and first-hand experience of Las Vegas’ many offerings. The familiarisation day took place off-strip, at the lesser-known Lake Las Vegas resort. Providing the perfect contrast to the bustle of the strip, Lake Las Vegas is a retreat enjoyed by Nevada residents and is something of an under-the-radar choice for travellers seeking to rest and recharge surrounded by the beauty of the desert.

As Las Vegas gears up to host one of the largest events in the travel industry, IPW, the summit was perfectly timed to showcase even more of what this ever-changing destination has to offer and present the two sides of the man-made and natural beauty of one of the world’s most famous locations.
