SAN FRANCISCO ‘CULTURE VULTURES’ PRESS TRIP
Hills Balfour hosted four fantastic media on a recent press visit to San Francisco, including independent.co.uk, OK! Magazine, The Sunday Mirror and Attitude Magazine.
This trip was designed to showcase some of the city’s cultural highlights, including the best museums, coolest districts, top restaurants and must-see events. Working with our colleagues at Norwegian Airlines, we were able to make this trip a joint venture to generate coverage of the airline’s new, non-stop flight from London Gatwick to San Francisco International Airport. The new route launched this summer, offering outstanding starting fares from £280 return in LowFare economy including all taxes and charges.
As UK visitors to San Francisco continue to grow, the trip offered a great opportunity to generate consumer coverage, focused on the city’s outstanding cultural offerings. The group stayed at the boutique Kimpton Buchanan Hotel in Japantown – a stylish property in-keeping with the unique neighborhood in which it is located. The group visited a few of San Francisco’s quirkiest and up-and-coming districts such as Hayes Valley, the Castro District and The Mission District – home to some of the city’s most impressive street art where the journalists took park in a ‘Murals and Graffiti’ Wild SF Walking Tour.
With so many museums and galleries to choose from, the group settled on visiting the infamous Alcatraz, Museum of Modern Art, de Young Museum and California Academy of Sciences. The journalists were also spoilt for choice when it came to dining. San Francisco’s foodie scene is booming – with its fantastically diverse population, the world cuisine found in the city is second-to-none. The group embarked on a food tour of Chinatown and Little Italy, enjoyed Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine, fresh seafood at Pier 39 and were treated to a winner’s pre-match meal at the impressive new Chase Centre, before watching (a very close!) game between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics.
